Why Combining Laser and Facials Can Maximise Your Skin Results

Some clients think they have to choose: “Should I book a laser treatment, or just get a facial?”

But at Platinum Cosmetics, we often combine both — strategically — to get better, faster, and longer-lasting results.

Laser and facials work on different layers of the skin, and when used together in the right way, they complement each other beautifully. Whether you’re treating pigmentation, texture, ageing, or barrier issues, pairing these treatments can accelerate your progress and support your skin more holistically.

Here’s how — and when — we do it.

Laser Works Deep — Facials Work on the Surface

Laser treatments (like Fotona) target deeper layers of the skin to:

  • Stimulate collagen

  • Break down pigmentation

  • Tighten and firm

  • Improve scarring and texture

Facials, on the other hand, focus on:

  • Hydration and surface balance

  • Calming inflammation

  • Supporting your barrier

  • Preparing or soothing the skin pre- and post-laser

By working on both the dermis and the epidermis, we give your skin the best chance to heal, respond, and maintain results over time.

When to Combine Laser and Facials

1. Before a Laser Series (Skin Prep)

Your results will always be better if your barrier is healthy and hydrated first. We often recommend one or two facials in the weeks before laser to ensure your skin is strong enough to respond well — especially for sensitive or rosacea-prone clients.

2. Between Laser Sessions (Support and Recovery)

If you’re doing a course of laser (e.g. 3–4 Fotona sessions), we space in calming, hydrating facials between treatments. This helps:

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Speed up recovery

  • Keep skin comfortable and supported

  • Prevent irritation or over-treatment

3. After Your Final Laser (Maintenance)

Post-laser, facials help maintain the results you’ve achieved — keeping your skin smooth, clear, and balanced. Think of them as ongoing support for your long-term glow.

Common Concerns We Treat With Combination Plans

  • Pigmentation and dullness

  • Fine lines and collagen loss

  • Redness and barrier sensitivity

  • Post-acne scarring

  • Skin fatigue or dehydration

We don’t upsell — we plan. If your skin doesn’t need both, we won’t recommend both. But when it does? The results are worth it.
